PROJECT: Labor & Industry Office Building

Construction was completed on a new 62,000 square foot three story facility. The facility houses the Department of Labor and Industry and the Pennsylvania Department of Lottery. The electrical scope of work included design of power, lighting, fire alarm, public address and security/access control design for each tenant. L&I’s lease agreement required emergency power backup for approximately 60% of their load so that they could remain functional during power outages. A 500 KW diesel generator was provided for this purpose as well as life safety needs.

In addition to building electrical systems, ARRIS designed the information technology and voice distribution throughout the facility. This included Cat 6E cabling for both systems which were taken from user locations and terminated on rack mounted patch panels located in closets on each floor.

PROJECT: Lackawanna Public Library System
LOCATION: Blakely, PA
COMPLETION DATE: 2003

OVERVIEW: The building systems group provided mechanical and electrical engineering design services for this new, state of the art municipal library.

New 12,000 sq ft library. The project involved the design mechanical and electrical systems for the new facility. The mechanical systems consisted of DX cooling utilizing a split system with air handling units and remote condensors, VAV terminal units with reheat and hydronic boiler.

Electrical systems consisted of interior and site lighting, power telecommunications and security.
